Homecoming 2018

Cainan's senior year and Shelby's sophomore year.

As my daughter stood looking at me eye level the realization that in just a few extremely short years the two will be off living their own lives. That thought is exciting and terrifying at the same time. I have been blessed with the best children and blessed to get to know their friends. ❤ . I am not ready for them all to grow up, but I know they'll do great things.

*Since it has already been addressed by a few, I'll add: When Cainan decided he was wearing a dress, yes, it was to be silly. He was having some fun with his friends. I thought it may cause an issue, so I sent him with alternative clothes just in case. I am not disappointed for him, personally, that they made him change, but I am saddened on a whole that we as a community are still in a place where kids cannot be free to be themselves. In some ways we are going backwards... I remember guys dressing up as girls when I was in school, goofing off. One day we may have a child in our community who wishes to dress as the opposite sex (or already do and I am unaware). I hope that we are ready for them and never make them feel uncomfortable or have them change into something we deem "appropriate " for their gender. short homecoming dresses 2018
